As a reader of this newsletter, you probably know that we’ve been trying for a while to do our part to advance the “plant-forward” movement in foodservice.
At Barilla we work every day to help advance the “plant-forward” movement in foodservice. We’re proud and excited to announce the launch of a totally new form of Barilla pasta, made entirely from legumes. It’s made with one simple ingredient: either lentil flour or chickpea flour, depending on the variety. It’s a good source of plant-based protein, and is naturally gluten-free. And since it has our name on it, you know it will have the best-in-class taste and texture you expect from Barilla. Red Lentil is available in Penne and Rotini, and Chickpea in Rotini and Casarecce shapes.
You’ll start seeing it on grocery store shelves nationwide in the fall of 2018, and if you’d like to get samples for your operation, send us an email at [email protected]. Samples for foodservice customers will ship in early 2019.
