The return of live events and business travel is welcome news for all of us in foodservice and hospitality, and not only because of the sense of normalcy it brings. As culinarians, we’ve been missing a key ingredient in what fires our creativity and inspiration, which is being with other chefs, seeing, tasting and cooking together.
To that end, we at Barilla are putting together an educational event with our dear friend Chef John Folse in Louisiana this October 3-6. We’re calling it “Modern Casual: Southern Hospitality, Louisiana Flavor” and it’s an invitation-only, all-expenses-paid culinary retreat for a select group of R&D Chefs. Our program includes workshops and hands-on cooking with the foods of Louisiana’s “Seven Nations,” excursions to local food producers, and a trends presentation from Flavor & the Menu’s Cathy Holley. With the amazing John Folse as our guide and partner we’ll immerse ourselves in Southern foodways, and how to adapt it to menus of all stripes in multi-unit and high-volume foodservice.
If you’ve been reading this and would like to be considered for an invitation, please contact your Barilla representative or drop us a line at [email protected] to let us know.
